Selected Bibliography - Cemeteries

This bibliography represents a small sample of published works on the general topic of cemeteries. Topics range from popular culture to more esoteric works on language and symbolism. Geographic coverage includes primarily the United States and Europe and all of them are published in English. A serious student of sacred landscapes will know that there exists a tremendous library of primary and secondary resources in other languages, notably French, on the general topic of cemeteries but also the broader field of death and dying.
