Potter's Field. Contains some of the earliest
burials in the cemetery, a consequence of the cholera epidemic
of 1873. Adalimer King (January 1870) is the first recorded burial
in this part of Oak Hill, which eventually included more than
1,500 burials. Interments ceased around 1889, about the same time
that a new pauper's burial ground opened up in the vicinity of
Birmingham's zoo and botanical gardens.
